What is Smart Money?

"Smart Money" is the capital moved by large institutions โ€” banks, funds and market makers. Smart Money Concepts (SMC) are a set of techniques that aim to identify where these institutions are buying and selling, so you can trade with them rather than against them.

Core concepts

Order blocks: zones where institutions accumulated large orders before a strong move. They act as high-probability support or resistance areas.

Fair value gaps: price imbalances left by fast moves. Price tends to return to "fill" these gaps.

Liquidity and stop hunts: institutions target liquidity zones (where retail stops sit) before moving price in the real direction.

How to apply it in binary options

Identify the trend on the higher timeframe, mark the order blocks and fair value gaps, and wait for price to react at those zones before entering with the institutional move. Combine it with multi-timeframe analysis.

โš ๏ธ Caution

SMC has a learning curve. Practise extensively on a demo account before trading real money, and donโ€™t force the read โ€” not every move has a clear institutional explanation.
